IA’s Phoenix Project Week: Lend Your Expertise!

This year, Innovation Academy (IA) is casting a school-wide focus on food scarcity in and around North Fulton. The Phoenix Project on Food Scarcity is an initiative designed to immerse our students in real-world challenges, enabling them to apply their learning in a practical context. Throughout the week, students will attend seminars, engage in discussions, and work in “Camps” (project groups) to research and develop actionable solutions to various aspects of food scarcity. We believe your expertise and experience can significantly enhance their learning experience

The Goal: Innovation Academy students will work in small groups to propose a solution to a local problem in their communities. We want our kids to consider actionable and authentic measures they can take to tackle a local issue rather than proposing lofty goals like “change the law” or “raise awareness with PSAs” that fail to address the implications and limitations of such plans.

The Event: We’d like to invite local experts and non-profit organizers to the school to help expose IA students to the reality of this issue in their community, as well as to showcase real-world solutions currently operating to address the problem.
