DNA Club team (Phage 2.0) who are all juniors this year, discovered a bacteriophage virus last year called Twigg. They and our senior team (Phage 1.0) extracted DNA from their virus last spring and had the genome sequenced. They will spend this semester piecing together the viral genomes and figuring out what each gene is used for in the virus. They will end up with an annotated map of the viruses and will publish this on their ID page in the Phages Database at the University of Pittsburgh. The students involved are: Phage 1.0: Timi Akinyele, Nidhi Gadekar and Emily Song. Phage 2.0: Anish Kelam, Bridget Flynn, Sasha Greyenbuhl and Naomi Webber.
