Design Thinking with the High Museum of Art

Honors Research students completed their “Impact a Client” assignment with a REAL client this year: the High Museum! After meeting with the High Museum’s Education Director, Kate McLeod, to learn about practical issues the museum is facing, our students researched and presented possible solutions to leaky skylights, safe storage of artwork, UV light protections for local bird populations, and more. We rapped up the authentic learning activity with a specialized tour of the museum that took students to the scene of each problem they attempted to solve, discussing the similarities to their proposed solutions with the actual plans the museum will be implementing in the next year.
