As senior year approaches, you may be wondering what next steps you need to take and how to move forward, but, fear not, I’ve compiled a list of items below that can help you in preparing you for the next school year.
- Have you created a preliminary plan for what courses you want to take next year?
- As your last year approaches, the courses you choose can be critical in ensuring that you meet graduation requirements, have a well-rounded education, and potentially demonstrate your potential to higher educational institutions.
- Have you looked at what colleges you’re interested in attending (if you plan on doing so)?
- It’s important to choose a college that suit your preferences, like campus size and location. It can also be crucial to consider what opportunities a campus offers to ensure that those opportunities align with your goals.
- Have you looked into how you’re going to finance your college education?
- College education can be financed in a multitude of ways, including merit-based aid, need-based aid, and scholarships, so it’s important to start looking at what type of aid colleges offer as well as applying to scholarships that align with you.
- Have you taken the SAT or ACT?
Many colleges and universities consider SAT and ACT scores as part of their admission process, so be sure to consider if you’re satisfied with your SAT and/or ACT scores in the context of the colleges you’re interested in applying to.
