This year, IA had 4 teams (20 students) participating in the CyberPatriot Competition. CyberPatriot is a National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, which tests students’ ability to identify vulnerabilities and defend against hackers. The competition works in 4 scored rounds that will lead to a National Competition in March. The first 2 rounds determine the level that the teams will compete in at the State Level Competition (Round 3). This year, we had one team compete at the Platinum Level (the highest of 3 categories) and 3 teams compete in the Gold Level. After Round 3 State Level Competition, we had one team in the Gold Level Category make it to the National Semifinals. This team placed 5th in the state and 40th in the Nation at the end of the Semifinal Round. All the teams did very well for Innovation Academy’s first year of competition.
