Principal’s Message

Dear Innovation Academy Families,

On February 28, 2025, Innovation Academy will host Cultivate, our annual career readiness day. This event is more than just a career fair—it’s a day dedicated to helping students develop the essential professional skills they’ll need for success beyond high school. Through interactive workshops, students will learn about everything from resume writing and financial literacy to negotiation tactics and professional communication.

While we’re excited about the event, we know that true career readiness doesn’t happen in a single day. It’s shaped over time, through experiences, guidance, and the conversations students have at home. That’s where you come in.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to talk with your student about the skills that matter most in the workplace and in life. Ask them what they already know about networking, professionalism, or financial planning. Share your own experiences—what do you wish you had known before entering the workforce? What advice would have helped you navigate your career path more effectively?

Our goal is to cultivate not just knowledge, but confidence. When students hear these lessons reinforced at home, they’re more likely to see the value in developing these skills now, rather than waiting until they’re already in the workforce.
