Innovation Academy Students Shine at National STN Conference in Tampa

Innovation Academy’s AVTF and Video Journalism students recently embarked on an exciting journey to Tampa, Florida, to compete in the prestigious Student Television Network (STN) Conference—an event that brought together 3,500 aspiring storytellers from across the globe.

The competition challenged students to write, shoot, and edit compelling video pieces under tight deadlines. IA students showcased their creativity in categories such as Commercial, Vertical Short Film, Natural Sound Package, Commentary, and Arts & Culture. Their hard work paid off, earning them Outstanding Achievement (Silver) for their work on a social show—an accolade recognizing their production of the weekly Monday Mission segment on Instagram (@innovation.iatv).

Beyond the competition, students had the chance to bond over thrilling rides at Busch Gardens, making unforgettable memories before diving into the fast-paced world of STN. They left with new friendships, invaluable storytelling experience, and a drive to take on next year’s competition with even greater ambition.
