The Red Cross Club once again made an impact on campus with its blood drive on March 14. As part of a vital initiative to help hospitals and patients in need, the club is encouraging students (16 +) and faculty to step forward and donate.
Siddarth Chintalapalli, the Blood Drive Coordinator, emphasized the importance of blood donation: “One donation can save up to three lives. We want to make sure that everyone who is eligible to donate understands how big of a difference they can make.”
If you wish to donate, please schedule ahead of time using this link: https://www.redcrossblood.org/mydrives.html/drive/1-FC5D7LW.
Chintalapalli added, ” We’re thankful for for a strong turnout this year, when you donate you get free food, a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card, and a T-shirt (although he admits they run out quickly)”
The Red Cross Club not only works in blood drives, but also goes on field trips to the Red Cross National Blood Distribution Center, and does community outreach for disaster service presentations to middle and elementary schoolers.
