If your student will be taking an AP Exam in the next two weeks please read the following information carefully!
Exam times and check-in
- Students should report to their testing locations no later than 7:30am for morning exams
and 11:30am for afternoon exams. - Students will be invited into the classrooms 15-20 minutes prior to test get into their FCS
computers and prepare to take the exam. Please remember that you may not unwrap any
test materials until instructed to do so. - Exams start promptly at 8am and 12pm.
Transportation
FCS buses do not run on a special schedule for AP exams. Students must arrange their own
transportation to come to school for morning exams. Students with afternoon exams lasting
beyond the 4:15pm dismissal must arrange for transportation home.
Keep in mind that 5/8 is the Taste of Alpharetta and roads will be closed and traffic patterns
may impact your arrival time to school.
Latecomers/no shows - If a student is late and the room has finished filling out identification information and
entered blue book codes to begin testing, the student will not be allowed in the exam room. - If a student does not show up for their originally scheduled exam date, they will be charged
a $40 cancellation fee. - Unlike EOCs, there is no make-up test for AP exams. Late-testing is only allowed by College
Board under extreme and specific circumstances.
College Board platform - Please ensure you have your college board log in credentials and are able to access your
account prior to your test day. You will need your college board credentials to log in to the
Blue Book app to access your AP exam. - Please check the college board website for a display of each AP exam your student is
registered to take. If your student does not remember their password, please call the
college board help line for assistance: 888-225-5427.
FCS Issued Device - You must use your FCS issued device. You cannot take your AP exam on a personal device.
- Please make sure you bring your FCS issued device to school prior to your first exam so that
the device can download any necessary updates and installations. - Make sure you FCS device is fully charged each day.
Student Accommodations - If you have approved accommodations through the college board website, your testing
locations will be emailed to you personally. - If you do not have approved accommodations through college board, the school is unable
to provide special accommodations.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria will be open during 3rd period from May 5th to May 16th. We will have lunch for students
with morning exams who test beyond 1:15pm.
Seating
Students will not be able to choose their own seat in the testing room. They will have their name
preset on the testing tables and when entering the room will need to find their name and be seated.
Backpacks must be left outside the testing room along with electronic devices (except your FCS
computer), smartwatches, smart glasses, etc. (all must be turned off)
What are students allowed to bring into the exam room - Two sharpened no. 2 pencils (with erasers).
- Two pens with black or dark blue ink only for completing free response questions for hybrid
exams. - Up to two calculators for the appropriate AP exams.
- A ruler or straightedge for Physics.
- A government or school issued photo ID.
Do not bring in the exam room - Electronic equipment (except for a FCS issued computer) of any kind: phones,
smartwatches, or wearable technology of any kind as well as tablets, Bluetooth devices,
portable listening devices-MP3 players, iPod, etc. cameras or other photographic
equipment, devices that can access the internet, separate timers of any type, and any other
electronic or communication devices. - Books , compasses, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes.
- Mechanical pencils, No. 3 pencils, or colored pencils.
- Rulers or straightedges (these are allowed for Physics exams)
- Protractors
- Scratch Paper (this will be provided to you)
- Personal Computers (you may only use your FCS device)
- Food or drink
- Clothing or shoes with subject-related information)
- Ear plugs
Restrooms
A student may use the restroom at any time but testing time does not stop, unless it is a part of a
student’s accommodations.
Calculators
Please speak with your teacher about approved calculators.
