The eXchange is IA’s library and social space in the building open from 8AM to 4:00PM Monday through Thursdays. It holds several community events being involved with the whole school and competitions being hosted for prizes against peers. With new month rolling in comes a new competition for the eXchange. Rolling in this October is anti-bullying month being be kind and respect your peers. If you feel like anyone is being unjustly treated by students or staff report it to a trust adult as soon as possible.
Monthly Challenge: this month’s challenge for the eXchange is a 53 word scary short story! Students who want to submit their work to Ms. Beem’s email in order to be considered to win! More information on this can be found on the whiteboard next to the stairs near the 2nd floor eXchange makerspace! Your 53 word story should be submitted no later then Thursday 10/23/2025!

Makerspace Volunteer Opportunities for Students: A Makerspace Volunteer interest meeting was held during 4/5th lunch on 10/01/2025. If you wanted to become a makerspace volunteer but didn’t attend this meeting, please send an email to Ms. Beem to get up to date information on how to continue. Remember, you must have a free period or virtual to become a volunteer, or be willing to sacrifice your lunch period to fulfill your volunteer time.
Important Notes from Ms. Beem: Students should be following the RISE expectations in the Makerspace at all times or it is a privilege we will lose. Students are expected to clean up after themselves in the Makerspace after finishing a project. Students are expected to be finished cleaning their area 5-10 minutes before the period is over. Students with projects in progress may use the storage boxes located inside the makerspace to the right of the door, however any students who fail to finish their project or update their date label to show it is in progress will have their projects destroyed and recycled on 11/01/2025, and any projects without labels with date and/or name will also be subject to destruction. These rules also apply to the podcast studio, which has also been recently closed due to messes being left in the studio.

That is all of our updates for today IA! We hope you enjoy all the privilege’s and activities our school eXchange gets to offer and we hope to bring further developments to the makerspace to make it a more fun and entertaining space for everyone! So make everyday a great day for you, and others this anti-bullying spoooooky month!
