Breaking Down Fall Break

“What I did over the fall break was go to a junkyard with my dad and take off a lower stabilizing brace from A 2001 is Isuzu Hombre, and put it on my dad’s truck.” Said Dylan Puntos (senior). Not the expected highlight from fall break, but a cool one non the less. Up until now, Fall Break used to be a couple of days which, to a lot of people, is barely anything. However, Fulton County has officially added added a week’s worth of zero school during the month of October. That week has passed and some students, like Dylan, have had some interesting and exciting plans.

Working on a truck is really cool and the dedication to spending that much time on it is impressive. But how often do you get to visit somewhere like Ruby Falls? Yusuf Abdulahi (senior), funny enough, went there but didn’t experience any of it. “Over Fall Break, me and my family went to Chattanooga to go visit Ruby Falls. Now they went to go visit Ruby Falls. I stayed in the hotel room and had to do my common app essay, my Georgia Tech supplemental.” Yusuf stated. “Got my Georgia Tech application finished. I was able to submit something pretty good. So, I’m pretty happy about that, at least.”

Fall Break has been a great addition to the schedule and its much appreciated by students. We were able to do things that were fun and had the time to do them. If you didn’t, that’s ok, because you got to rest and relax, and if you spent the week doing college prep, chores, homework, or working a job, you got things done and are able to feel accomplished because of that. At the end of the day, everyone has their highlights, but the best ones of all are, of course, doom scrolling reels in bed at 3 am.
