Mr. Robinson is a Michigan native who taught at Rockdale Magnet before joining Innovation Academy. He’s passionate about helping students discover what research really means beyond just experiments and data. His background and experience make him a great mentor for students who want to explore complex questions and take ownership of their work.

When asked about his approach to teaching, Mr. Robinson said, “I try to talk to students as normal human beings. By not building up artificial barriers, I find more authentic connections that lead to positive educational outcomes,” showing the humility and easygoing personality his students appreciate. It’s clear how much he cares about seeing every student connect deeply with their research and find excitement in what they study.

A fun fact about him is that he’s a wedding officiant and he actually officiated the wedding of two teachers here at IA: Mr. Denato and Ms. Paxton. Whether it’s in the lab or around the school, most students in the research program will meet him sooner or later, and they’ll quickly see why he’s such a key part of IA’s research community.
