Every day we walks through the halls of IA past all of our students, staff, and teachers but do you ever wonder to yourself when you walk past that one teacher you’ve never had, or that one staff member that doesn’t talk much about themselves and say to yourself, “What is going on inside their head?”
Today we’re going to release some fun or interesting facts about IA teachers and staff that you may or may not know about! Don’t worry, all of these facts were sourced ethically from these teachers and staff.

Mr. Zeki (Math Department)
“I’m from the Country of Ethiopia, and no I was not at the world of IA, however my kids were!”
Mr. Hartley (Math Department)
“I’m getting married next year.”

Ms. Taha (Science Department)
“I graduated from Georgia Tech, and I’m from Wisconsin. Is that a good fact? Actually, let’s change it. I swam in both the Red and Dead Seas!”
Ms. Luffel (eXchange staff)
“I like to run long distances, I guess? I don’t know.”


Ms. Beem (eXchange staff)
“I thought really hard about this when you asked me earlier! I can build puzzles without seeing the picture!”
Ms. Rickson (Control Center Staff)
“I do yoga every single morning, and then mediate in the evening when I go home!”

MS. Kennedy (Control Center Staff)
“So, I actually used to be a archery coach.”

“I love cats and I volunteer at Fur Kids!”


Mr. Proctor (Music Tech Specialist)
“So I have a lot. I used to go with my buddies and we would drift our cars on the gravel lot that existed before Avalon was built. Oh also, and this is apparently a hot take, but I think Dark Night Rises is overrated.”
Ms. Holmes (Healthcare Department)
Ms. Holmes is AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) certified, meaning she can sky dive on her own, the certifications requires 20 jumps to acquire.
Ms. McKenzie (Career Department)
“So I am actually a mom of twins, I think that’s a good fact?”
CSA Harvey (Campus Security Staff)
“I served in the Army for 20 years and did 2 tours.”

Ms. Scenna (English Department)
“I was a DJ in Macon in my Senior year of college, I worked every Thursday and Friday night”
Ms. Matthews (English Department)
“I can actually guess the temperature of a room by a few degrees accuracy if its changed. Oh, I can also wiggle my ears.”
Mr. Nicholson (Co-Teacher)
“I collect watches, however I mainly wear my Apple Watch since its super versatile.”

Mr. Buning (Social Studies)
“I’m a musician who likes to play the drums, guitar, and the bass.”
