Innovation Academy has 3 Super Flex Friday’s every year for Engineering, IT, and Healthcare. Every Super Flex Friday has some type of special event going on for it and upcoming this Friday (02.06.2026) is Healthcare’s first Flex Friday for 2026, so why are we discussing Super Flex Fridays?

Every year since 2024 Healthcare Department Chair Dr. Dawes has hosted an event with her student leadership team known as “Save a Life” it has been a yearly event taking place on Healthcare’s 2nd or 3rd Flex Friday of the 2nd Semester. Now there is an important part of this that all Healthcare students must attend, and that is the Healthcare Flex Friday before Save-A-Life. Is Match Day.

Match Day is a time the HC Flex Friday prior to Save-A-Life where students get to see what position they got ranging from Decontamination, Transport, even Hospital Coordination, and fret not Freshman! You also get a very special role for Save-A-Life! All declared Healthcare Pathway freshman are assigned as Patients no matter what! Due to them of course having little to no Healthcare knowledge that is learned in Sophomore and Junior years.

Save a Life is one of IA’s biggest events that months of planning from pathway leadership and volunteers pour into to make a great event for the community and the rest of IA.

At the time of writing of this article the topic of this years Save-A-Life hasnt been decided for 2026. However we look forward to this Friday’s Match time to see what the topic is for the event!
