SAT
The SAT is a standardized test that measures a student's skills in three core areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Students in grades 11 and 12 take the SAT so that they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process.
Who takes the test?
While there is no age requirement to take the SAT, but most colleges will not recognize any tests taken in 8th grade or before. It is recommended to take the test in your junior or senior year.
What is a good score?
The average SAT score is around 1050. Any score above that would be above average. A score of 1350 would put you in the top 10% of test takers and help make your application competitive at more selective schools.
