10th Graders: Check your school email for information about important IA Pinnacle Project dates. The Pinnacle Project was specifically designed for 10th graders to help them learn about effective research skills and prepare for the yearlong research project they will conduct as juniors.
Research projects are a big part of our learning experience, as they help build skills that are not just useful at school but also in our day-to-day lives. Preparing for a year-long research project might sound scary or boring but we have you covered with all the tips and tricks that you need, given exclusively by our AP research teacher Ms. Reid.
The Pinnacle Project will be an opportunity to engage and learn about research in a hands-on manner. With the help of this project, students will get an opportunity to explore research topics, methods to conduct research and also will develop critical thinking skills. To make the most out of this opportunity Ms. Reid shared some tips that will help students get through this experience with ease. “Choose a topic that you are passionate and interested about because the more connected you are to your topic, the more interesting it will be to conduct the research.” Ms. Reid also added that “the most effective way to learn research skills was to practice those skills, along with honing your ability to think critically and problem solve.”
