Yall know Dave? He’s got great chicken, and they are HOT! For those who don’t know, on October 30th, the food chain, Dave’s Hot Chicken, opened a new restaurant in Downtown Alpharetta, close by Innovation Academy. Since it’s opening, students have been enjoying the sandwiches and meals. Om Kamal (senior) has stated “My first time ever going there, I tried the two tender meal. It was honestly really good. I got an extra hot, that spice was good. It hurt, but it was a good hurt, you know?”

Even though the food can be a bit painful, it’s honestly very worth it. When I asked Om Kamal what he would rate the restaurant he said “9.5…The sit-in experience was pretty nice… Since I got mine to go, they wrapped it up very nicely… But when you pay for that food, it comes to you steamy and hot. And when you take a bite, first bite, amazing. I really recommend this pot.” Om has been pretty fond of the joint and rightfully so, but this next is one student who is probably the biggest fan of this restaurant.

Tommy Steimer (senior), who literally wouldn’t let me not interview him, has this to say about the restaurant, “Dave’s hot chicken is perfectly Immaculate… It is super well seasoned just everywhere and it has the right amount of like crunch. I really like that their restaurants are decorated with Dave’s Hot Chicken Graffiti and they have all these neon lights and neon signs. I also really like their top-loaded shakes and their boba tea… My only downside to Dave’s Hot Chicken, is that it’s fairly expensive chicken. But I personally believe that the price is justified with how good their food is.”

It seems like they like the restaurant and I cant say I blame them. Long story short, Dave’s Hot Chicken is really good. The chicken is cooked very well with tenderness and a nice crispy texture. I’ve had three different spices, mild, hot, and reaper. If you can’t handle spice and just don’t like it, mild is a good option. Hot and very hot are good for those who can handle spice and want a good kick, enjoyable pain if you will. The spice that is meant for those with nerves of steal, the ones who can handle the stuff of legend, that goes to The Reaper. As a survivor of this spice I can say that it’s pretty difficult to get through. If you cant handle spice or just don’t like it, than do NOT have The Reaper. Only have it with your chicken if you can handle spice.

Regardless of how you like your chicken, spices, or fries, Dave’s Hot Chicken has something for everyone. From mild to Reaper, you’ll have a spice option for you, seasoning a simple meal consisting of chicken tenders and tender sliders. Not to mention their fires that you can add cheese to, making for a delicious side. All in all, Dave’s Hot Chicken is exceptional and delicious, food worth the price, time, drive, and sit in experience. Now if you’ll excuse me, I got another round of chicken to snag.
