Early this year, the annual Fulton County Student Technology Competition (FCSTC) took place. FCSTC, commonly known as the Tech Fair, is an annual showcase where Fulton County students can present their own original technology projects. This year’s competition was held on January 10 at North Springs High School, where students from across the district competed in a wide range of categories from game design to web development. Innovation Academy students once again demonstrated their creativity and technical skills and came home with several major wins.
Innovation Academy earned four awards across multiple technical categories:
- Viraj Das – 1st Place in Digital Game Design
- Aman Sreejesh – 2nd Place in Multimedia Applications
- Satyajeeth Suresh Kannan – 1st Place in Physical Computing
- Alexander Blake – 1st Place in Web & Mobile Apps
All first‑place winners from the county competition will advance to the Georgia Student Technology Competition (GaSTC), taking place on March 14 in McDonough. These students will once again present their projects, participate in an interview with judges, and compete against top student innovators from across the state.
Many IA students, such as Alexander Blake [10], are choosing to take State as an opportunity to not only showcase their projects from FCSTC but also refine their projects for the next level of competition. Blake notes,
“Since Tech Fair, I have been working on improving the AI in my project and the platform as a whole in preparation for the state competition which is only a week away.” – Alexander Blake [10]
As the FCSTC winners continue to improve their innovations and present them to the world, we wish them luck not only for the state competition but also for their bright futures.
