IA students tour the Mercer Pharmacy program

Innovation Academy’s Pharmacy Science students recently visited Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy, where they explored educational pathways, career opportunities, and the journey toward becoming a pharmacist. Students had the opportunity to engage with faculty and students, learn about the profession, and participate in a hands-on sunscreen compounding activity.

The experience gave students a deeper appreciation for the field of pharmacy and the possibilities awaiting them after graduation. Here is some of the feedback from students:

Sarah Marquez-Yera: “It was amazing!! The sunscreen activity was interesting and I got to interact with people outside my period. I am at the moment looking into Mercer and a career in Pharmacy. Thank you so much for making the field trip happen!”

Alex Feraghat: “My experience was great, I really enjoyed it and learned more about the pharmacy path.”

Maria Tseretyan: “My experience was great it was nice to hear about the pharmacy field and the different fields in pharmacy from pharmacists. Making the sunscreen and the food was great.”

Affan Tariq: “The field trip was fun. It was very beneficial to learn about their programs and a pathway in the medical field.”

A special thank you to Jordana Berry, Dr. Crouch, Dr. Thurston, Sarah, and Raynaat Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy for their hospitality, time, and commitment to inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals!
