FCS Innovation Academy is a choice magnet school and requires students to follow set of magnet requirements to stay enrolled from year to year.  For the first weeks of school, we wanted to take the time to remind you of each requirement and how to be successful.

#1 90% attendance rate for the year

This means having no more than 9 absences per semester, BOTH excused and unexcused.  Being at school is important for your academics and to stay connected with students and staff.  Documentation of all absences should be filed in the front office for review by our magnet requirements committee.

Sick under 2 days?  Parents should email iaattendance@fultonschools.org

Sick over 3 days?  A doctor note is needed on file.

Appointment?  Bring back a doctor’s note after the appointment to put on file in the main office.

All excuse notes should be filed 5 days from the absence.

Plan to be absent?  Pick up a pre-approved absence form from the front desk for your student to fill out and turn in 5 days before the absence especially if it will be longer than 2 days and it falls outside the main district policy categories:

• Important family events/celebrations for an immediate family member (graduation, wedding, religious ceremony, etc.)
• A verified interview for college admission or a documented college visit
• A specialized, supplemental, or extracurricular program/event
