One of the most unique aspects of Innovation Academy is its Super Science curriculum. As the only Fulton County School to have an accelerated science pathway, many students are left confused about what to expect out of the Super Science program.

The Super Science courses at IA span biology, chemistry, and physics across multiple grade levels. Beginning in 9th grade with Honors Biology and AP Biology, continuing through 10th and 11th grade with Honors and AP Chemistry, and culminating in 11th grade with AP Physics 1 and 2, the program emphasizes depth, independence, and conceptual mastery. All Super Science classes run for 1.5 class periods during 4th period, creating extended blocks of time for lectures, labs, and discussion, while often allowing students to leave early when independent work is appropriate.

What truly defines Super Science is its expectation of self-directed learning. According to Super Physics teacher Mr. Seals, students rely heavily on independent learning through resources such as AP Classroom, online lectures, and in-class labs, with an emphasis on managing time and avoiding procrastination.

Together, these courses prepare students not only for advanced exams but for the realities of college-level STEM study.
