This month, we’d like to spotlight the Student Enterprise club for their Valentine’s Day Maker Market!
This exceptional club allows students to explore entrepreneurship through various maker markets where students can set up a booth at school and sell their handmade items to students and staff. They have hosted a variety of markets including a Christmas market and this Valentine’s Day market spreading cheer during these festive times.
This market ran from February 11th to February 13th for Valentine’s Week. Students sold a wide variety of items ranging from crochet jellyfish to handmade cards. Aarushi Kansal, Jenbao Perng, Claire Gordon, Amal Elnadeef, Kaylee Ojonah, Naomi Webber, Mira Bhatikar, Azul Gaetano, Sidhra Shaik, Alaa Masalma, David Hightower, Aroush Malik, Sophia Bates, Sophie, and Pratyusha Soni were the main vendors at this market. As they opened their booths, they were met with much enthusiasm, receiving many sales on the first day. Jen-bao, who sold crochet flowers and adorable crochet bunnies, stated that “The market was great and it was really fun seeing all the people who came to our stand. I’m glad all my bunnies found homes!” The items sold were spectacular and truly showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the students at IA! Merging the talents and handicrafts of students across IA, this market combined our students’ interest in business, crafting abilities, and enthusiasm for happy customers creating a great experience for every attendee. Overall, this was a very successful market with our vendors receiving a lot of support and students leaving with gifts for friends and family, or themselves!
